Like everything, there is a wait time for the completion of a transfer of a domain name from one registrar to another.

Whilst the domain is in ‘transfer’ mode, your website, emails etc will all still remain online.  An important note to remember is that once you hit the ‘transfer’ button, you will not be able to make any adjustments to your name servers or whois contacts.

If transferring a website and domain to us, it would be advisable to transfer website files and databases first, update name servers.  Confirm that everything is operating as it should, and then transfer the domain.

Once you initiate the transfer, the domain contacts will receive a ‘Transfer Authorisation’ email which will have a URL (link) that needs to be clicked for the transfer to be approved.  If the domain transfer link is not ‘clicked’ within 24 hours, the transfer is not approved and will time out.

AU Domain Transfers
These normally take 48 hours to transfer from the time the authorisation link is clicked.

gTLD Domain Transfers
These include .com, .net, etc normally take approximately 7 days from the time the authorisation link is clicked.
